Mick Gooding

Mick Gooding had had success with Reading as joint manager and it came as something of a surprise when he was released and joined Martin as a player / coach. He took over as temporary manager when Martin was sacked / resigned and was in charge for the visit to Rochdale where on a miserable night the Shrimpers lost 1-0. He continued to be second in command throughout Little's time in charge.
