Biography

Dick Bate was given his first managerial job by Vic Jobson and proved a disaster. Recommended by Howard Wilkinson he lasted for ten matches and finished with a league record reading P8 W0 D2 L6 GF11 GA28 Pts2 giving a success percentage as a Blues Manager of 12.50%? He was not actually sacked, but left after being demoted to coach. <br><br>He successfully sued the club for breach of contract as he had been on a two year contract and later went on to manage the Malaysian national side, assist with the Canadian national side and became a important figure at the FA managing the junior England teams for many years.
